This is a small utility for your UIQ3 smartphones (W950, M600, W960, P1i, P990, etc). You can reboot the phone or turn it off quickly by using this app. It is very useful for modders who need to access the power button usually.

With a port of the SE G700/G900 Flash firmware support, our P1i can now play swf files (not flv files yet) :) . A big thanks to SWmail - a super  modder/hacker for UIQ3, you can visit his site to try more intersting mods here.

This mod intended to play Flash contents on Opera Mobile on SE UIQ3 smartphones.

Tested on: P1i (R6G04/R9K009/GW1), P990i (R9GA001/R6E28), M600i, W950i, W960i
Note: G700/G900 smartphones with last firmware already have FlashPlugin.

Installation: (taken from swmail's readme):

Now you can play flash from your smartphone's by using Opera opens link like 'd:/myflash/flash.swf' but before opening, you must do the following:

  • Start Opera
  • Go to More >> Settings >> Configuration >> and tick "Allow Plugins"

Enjoy Flash support! And if you like SWMail's work, you can donate to encourage him to continue :)

PS: after testing on my P1i, I realize that this mod could make the phone play swf files only with small size (less than 2MB), if you play a larger files, the quality will not be very smooth.

sudoxAnother free game that is recommended for everyone in the UIQ 3 community: SudoX. It's a free Sudoku / Kakuro application for those addicts out there. Although this game may not appeal to everyone, at the very least please give a hand to the developer FiendSoft, for making a bunch of excellent freeware applications.

toscIf you want to capture screen shots, seeing that there was no built-in utility to do that on the phone, I recommend you to use The Open Screen Capture. This app was developed by Space Software Studio. It allows users to choose between 0 sec, 10 sec and 30 sec delay. The screenshots are saved in PNG format (smaller file size than BMP) on the memory card.

It performs a great job of capturing the screen - however it's still in the beta stage. The image file format cannot be changed (must be PNG), so keep that in mind when using the app. Don't be too surprised if the app does act up when you want to take a screenshot of a game or something (It never acted up on me when I've been using it though).

GNU GoGNU Go, developed by the excellent SomeOne / AnotherGuest (who also ported Lemmings over to UIQ 3.0)

This is an open-source game so if you are a developer and find that the AI is a bit 'lacking', or "stupid" as most people put it, you can contribute to the game algorithm. :)

The game comes with 2 modes, you can play against the AI-GnuGo or play against another human opponent. Note that there is no wireless play, so you will have to cope with the more primitive method of sharing the phone as you play.

You can find more details and download the game here

mvnc200screen-addconn-uiq3mShell is a free scripting tool for anyone who doesn't know what it is. Based on the easy-to-learn programming language M, it has a rich phone specific library, thus allowing many to fully explore the phone's potential.

The image on the right shows the screen when running mVNC, an application built using mShell. It's a software that allows the display of the phone's screen on a VNC viewer on the PC, so the phone can be completely controlled from your computer. The app also offers file synchronisation abilities, so scripts can be edited, tested, and executed on your computer before being downloaded to your phone.

If you like to program for your UIQ3 phone, I think mShell and mVNC is the good choice. :)
