LinkBoy provides up to 45 shortcuts to frequently used tasks, that can be optionally displayed on the standby screen. It seems like GDesk has just gotten some competition.

Similarly to GDesk, whats great is that the positions of the shortcuts and icons can be changed (the fact that UIQ 3.0 doesn't allow for it in the main menu still boggles me). The Captions under each icon can be changed as well. The standby settings are left intact on the screen, and makes it slightly more convenient than GDesk.

It also has a menu to set transparency for the various shortcuts - something the iPhone users might be in awe about.

The software does not come for free, as opposed to GDesk. Costing at $14.95, it seems to be a high price to pay for to obtain a "stable version of GDesk". You can go here for the details.

Swiss Manager is one of apps that you must have for your P1i. It provides a task manager, file manager and system information viewer. I think it does the job better than the built-in task manager and I recommend you to install it for your UIQ3 phone.
